June is almost over and I’ve been remiss in not updating what’s happening inside the June 2014 issue of APC magazine:
* I’ve had a busy month, benchtesting the latest Android, iOS and Windows 8 tablets. The real surprise for me was the arrival of some decent Windows tablets at amazing prices that are well worth taking a look at.
* With Google having released Chromecast in Australia, I thought it timely to take a look at Chromecast alternatives in my Android Masterclass. You may not realise it, but there are multiple ways of achieving the same thing and more than Chromecast – quite possibly using gear you already have. I’ve tested multiple scenarios, each with great success.
* And finally, in my Arduino Masterclass, I delve into the world of digital audio once more and look at the mechanics of digital audio recording. As always, there’s a real practical element to these masterclasses and here, I show you how to build a basic digital audio recorder using an Arduino Uno board, a DIY shield and a handful of passive components. And of course, you can download the sketch/source code to make the project work.
You’ll find this, plus a stack more inside the June 2014 issue, on sale now at all good newsagents and stockists.
