UserOS Home Server tip: Burn the disc the right way

If there’s one common problem that has occurred with our UserOS operating systems, it’s the mistake of burning the ISO image from the cover disc as an ordinary data disc, when it needs to be an ISO disc.

What price Apple to launch a netbook?

Want your Mini 9 in white? That’ll be $US25 extra please…

While Dell’s new Inspiron Mini 9 netbook has just gone on sale in the US, US consumers will be in for a shock when they go to pony up for the “alpine white” version – Dell is asking for a $US25 premium for the privilege.

Dell not offering Ubuntu to Australian Mini 9 buyers?

While Dell has released its new Inspiron Mini 9 netbook in the US with the option of either Windows XP Home Edition or Ubuntu Linux operating system, it appears as though Australian consumers won’t get that option.

DVD Plus 2008 – update

It’s been a while coming but the bug update for DVD Plus 2008 from Australian PC User’s May 2008 issue is now available.
The update requires you first install the original installation file from the May 2008 cover disc and then install the update after. The update will automatically make corrections and should be ready to go.
