You can’t help but think that iPad owners are an optimistic lot. No sooner had news of the iPad 2 hit than iPad 1 owners started flocking to eBay to sell their no-longer-loved first-gen Apple tablets.
That’s fine – but what’s with the prices people expect?
The cheapest price we saw of the 200 or so on eBay at last count was $390. Given Big W is selling the 16GB Wi-Fi version for $398 brand-new, you’d be tempted to borrow that well-known line from The Castle: “Tell ‘em they’re dreamin’”.

So far, Big-W has the best price at $398 for the base 16GB Wi-Fi model.
At this stage, Apple hasn’t announced pricing for the new models. However, the company will be under pressure to deliver better prices than before.

Thanks to Apple and Intel, expect to hear plenty more about Thunderbolt. And by the looks of it, it could spell trouble for USB3.0.

In an open-letter to iPhone 4 users, the company admitted that while there were no significant issues with the phone’s external antenna design that weren’t found in most other smartphones, it had botched the mathematical formula that calculates the number of bars to represent signal strength.
What’s more, the formula has been wrong since the release of the original iPhone.
